SCHOLARSHIP: FIRST EVER HIGH SCHOOL INTERN 2021.
Lightmare Studios is a Veteran Aussie Indie Game Development Studio, offering multi-international award winning Strategy Games, Traineeships and Industry Immersion opportunities.
The studio introduced it's first ever high school intern for 2021 in 2020 and it was a privilege to be selected as the first recipient for their scholarships program to be introduced.
I would like to sincerely appreciate the efforts of my school - Glenory Specialist School and in particular the sub-school leader, Polly Morgan for her tireless efforts in helping me secure the scholarship. Also, I'd like to extend the sincere acknowledgement to Lightmare Studios, particularly the representatives, Melissa Wright and Jason for their trust and belief in my creative capability to be an intern. Thank you also to my parents for their encouragements and support and especially my dad for providing the environment at home to advance my creative skills.
On Thursday, the 17th of December 2020, I helped my school (Glenroy Specialist School) to facilitate the Disc Jokey (DJ) for the end-of-year fun event. The event invovles the entire school and ran for about two hours. The main activity was to enable students to get out of their wheelchairs and dance.
I was tasked as the DJ for the school's end-of-year fun dance event where I was given a list to search online, identify, organise and play music for the event. I used the school's laptop and internet access to facilitate this activity. It was fun and a learning curve too.
I was part of five boys who took part in a workshop called "Digital Mix Program", provided by Yooralla and funded by the Moreland Community Grant Program in 2020. After completion, a certificate of completion was issued. The program is about basic skills in electronics involving robotic programming using "littleBits" chips where in our case, we connect them together to make simple automobile such as cars etc.
The workshop was a 2 hours program which ran for ten weeks from May to July 2019. It took place at the Pascoe Vale Community Center in Victoria.
In March 2018, few weeks after Cornelius arrived in Australia and joined his new school - Glenroy Specialist School, he participated in an Art Show on behalf of his school, along with some of his school mates. His art won the first price under his category and he was given a certificate with two vouchers.
The first voucher was worth a $100 and given to him while the second was $300 awarded for his school. He used the $100 voucher to purchase his art materials.
